Pefachrome® C1E 5603, Chromogenic Substrate for C1-esterase
Application:
Pefachrome®C1E, a highly sensitive chromogenic substrate for C1-esterase, is used for the determination of C1-esterase inhibitor (C1INH) in plasma. C1INH is a regulatory protein that acts as an inhibitor of various serine proteases in the complement system, the kallikrein-kinin system, the coagulation cascade and in fibrinolysis.
Formula: CH3CO-Lys(Cbo)-Gly-Arg-pNA · AcOH
Principle:
C1INH activity is determined by adding an excess of C1-esterase to a plasma sample. A complex of C1-esterase and C1INH is formed and the residual C1-esterase is determined spectrophotometrically by using Pefachrome® C1E 5603.
