Factor VIIa, human, native (frozen)
Description
Human Factor VII has been purified from human plasma via Barium adsorption followed by immunopurification. The active form was generated by autoactivation under controlled calcification.
Properties
On activation, single chain factor VII is spliced in two chains (heavy and light chain); the protein contains a NH2-termlnal gla-domain and two EGF domains.
Molecular weight: 50,000 Da
Extinction coefficient: 13.9
Purity: > 95%
Specific activity
Specific activity is determined by Factor VII clotting assay. One unit of activity is equivalent to the factor VII activity in one milliliter of normal plasma (determined utilizing Beckman Coulter's ACL Top instrument and reagents). See vial label for lot-specific activity.
Warning
The source plasma for this product was tested prior to initiation of the manufacturing process, and was found negative or nonreactive for anti-HIV-112, HIV-1 antigen(s), HBsAg, STS, anti-HCV, anti-HBcore and anti-HTLV I & II. Extreme caution should be used when handling this material as there is a margin of error in all tests, and testing does not always disclose pathogens or other harmful substances contained in bloodlplasma products.
