Protein C Deficient Plasma is manufactured from pooled normal human plasma depleted of Protein C using antibodies directed to Protein C.

Application
For research assays of Protein C antigen and functionality, as a negative control and for dilution of standards and test samples. For functional Protein C determination. Protein C is activated by the Protein C Activator Protac^®. Using Protein C Deficient Plasma the anticoagulant effect of Activated Protein C (APC) on the activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT) is determined.

Warning
The plasma is prepared from screened normal citrated human plasma that have been tested and found negative for HBsAg, HIV 1/2 Ab and HCV Ab. As no known test method can provide complete assurance that products derived from human blood will not transmit HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2 or other blood-borne pathogens, this reagent should be handled as recommended for any potentially infectious human specimen.

Presentation
Set of 5 clear, screw-capped vials each containing 1 mL of lyophilized plasma. The plasma contains 50mM HEPES and stabilizers.

Reconstitution and Stability
One vial of lyophilized product is reconstituted by addition of 1 mL of distilled water, employing gentle agitation for 10 minutes, at room temperature. Stability after reconstitution is 2 hours at ambient (18-25°C), or 30 days at -20 °C.

Storage
Prior to reconstitution, dried plasma should be stored at 2-8°C.
